Following in Eva’s footsteps, the next year Laura was also nominated by the MCB Department to compete with graduate students across all departments on campus and was chosen to receive the 2020-2021 UC Dissertation-Year Fellowship. This award will provide Laura with the funding to finish up her graduate school work.
After being nominated by the MCB Department, Eva competed with graduate students across all other departments on campus to be the recipient of the 2019-2020 University of California Dissertation Fellowship. This award provides full funding for students in their final years of graduate school. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Sandra for becoming the first graduate student to receive their Ph.D. the Saijo lab and to publish her first-author paper in Neuroimmunology and Neuroinflammation. We are all super proud of her work in the lab, in which she identified a novel regulator of the microglial inflammatory response: Phf15.
